If you have not seen the 2006 Bollywood film, "Band Baaja Baaraat", for some reason you must. The story is so cute and romantic that even girls would love it. The story written by Javed Akhtar is about a young man who has fallen in love with a live model named Asha, but cannot marry her yet because she works in England on the other side of the world. What he does instead is write to her on a daily basis each day, telling her all about his day just through words without ever meeting up with her in person. The movie revolves around this premise and the comedy and romance that follows. The film received mostly positive reviews as well as TRPs as it had a good opening at the box office. The film was rated 9-10 by critics, giving it a 'Fresh' rating, which is high for any Bollywood movie released in recent years. It became the first Hindi movie to break the Rs 40 crore mark at the box office (first week). Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma were given a lot of credits for this movie. Their characters in the film look so cute and funny that the audience is easily carried away by their romance. Aftab Shivdasani was also a part of the cast, playing a pivotal character in the film. Deepti Naval played Surili, Karan's grandmother in the film.The soundtrack was released on 5 September 2006 by T-Series music company on 2 CDs and on 1 DVD. The soundtrack was composed by Pritam while lyrics were penned by Javed Akhtar and Amitabh Bhattacharya. The album received good critical reviews altogether with some impressive sales figures across the world. Bonus Tracks: The film got a good response from the audiences and the media. It was rated as one of Aftab Shivdasani's best movies ever made. The movie also helped launch Ranbir Kapoor's career along with his co-star Anushka Sharma. Anushka Sharma played a live model in this movie but her next role was opposite Akshay Kumar in the film, "Saawariya". She also became a household name for playing the role of Ayan Mukerji's love interest, Sonia Mehra in his 2010 production, "Aiyyaa". Ranbir Kapoor also appeared in Ayan's movie, "Aurangzeb" where he played the role of a king. The film's success led to Pritam becoming one of Bollywood's most sought after music directors.
